Academic Writing

The purpose of this course is to provide students with additional opportunities to improve their writing skills in the four areas of academic writing (descriptive, persuasive, expository, and narrative).

This is some text inside of a div block.

About this course

Over the course of this program, each area of academic writing will be examined and practiced with a culminating writing activity at the end of each unit.  Each lesson will include writing warm-ups (vocabulary practice, writing drills, grammar review, writing on demand) followed by a targeted lesson and guided independent writing to prepare for the culminating assignment.  Each assignment will be assessed on a scale of 1-4 using a writing rubric and each student will get extensive constructive feedback on all written assignments.
