About

Maureen Conklin

Originally from NJ, I graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and English. I have 4 years teaching experience, teaching many subjects including Reading & Writing, English, and Social Sciences. Furthermore, I have 15+ years' experience working with children ages 3-17 in many capacities including as a Youth Counselor and Youth Program Manager for Celebrity Cruises, Camp Supervisor for multiple summer camps, as well as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. I strongly believe a classroom should provide a safe and fun learning environment for all students. As a teacher, I strive to create dynamic, differentiated, and interactive classroom activities to keep students engaged and wanting to learn more. Fostering a lifelong love of learning is key to developing crucial life skills such as critical and creative thinking, problem-solving and decision making, as well as metacognition and self-awareness. Involving students in their own learning through high interest lessons and activities creates a safe space for students to learn and grow!
