In Podcasting 101, students are taught how to create and record podcasts that could be shared with the community. They learn everything from planning, writing, speaking, recording, editing, and presenting the content they are most interested in.

This course is great for anyone interested in learning more about audio production, recording, and speaking skills. This course is also an excellent way to learn to speak with confidence and clarity. Students will spend time each day speaking clearly and will receive professional feedback about their ideas, voice, structure, and finished audio files.

Areas of Focus each lesson:  

• Using technology to record vocal tracks

• Editing audio using “Audacity”
• Speaking clearly (enunciation and pronunciation)
• Developing ideas and confidence to speak

• Recording software and hardware skills

End-of-week Project:  

A set of compelling recorded messages to share with the world or community.

Students are required to bring a microphone to connect to a cell phone or computer. Simple and inexpensive options include headset microphones on headphone or headsets.

They also require a quiet place to record, such as an office or a room without interruption.
