Creativity is the only truly renewable resource – the more you use it the more it grows!  Students in this course will have the opportunity to work on their creative writing skills by conceptualizing, editing, and writing short stories, poems, letters, and more in a variety of different genres.  From Adventure to Allegory, Science Fiction to Journalism, Sonnets to Haiku, this course will take students through the ins and outs of each style of writing and give them the skills and confidence to enjoy the creative process for years to come.

• Journalism (News Article, Op-Ed, Longform Video Piece**)

• ** Students will be asked to write a script for a longform journalistic report on the topic of their choice.  If possible, they will need a smartphone or tablet to use as a video recording device, but if this is not possible they may submit the script only
• Additional materials to be provided by the teacher
• 40 minutes of writing homework per week (20 minutes of class time will be allotted for homework completion with teacher support
